Dardenne Prairie is a city located in St. Charles County, Missouri, the United States. It lies in the western part of the St. Louis metropolitan area, about 35 miles west of downtown St. Louis and 5 miles north of the Missouri River. Dardenne Prairie is close to O'Fallon, St. Peters, and St. Charles, making it part of one of the fastest-growing suburban areas in eastern Missouri. The city is located at approximately 38.7664° North latitude and 90.7293° West longitude. It covers about 4.90 square miles (12.69 sq km) and had 14,768 residents in the 2020 Census. The area has gently rolling land, streams, wooded areas, and former farmland that has been developed into residential neighborhoods. Dardenne Prairie was incorporated as a city in 2001. Its growth has been closely tied to the expansion of the St. Louis suburbs and nearby employment centers. The city is also close to the Katy Trail, Missouri River, and several regional parks.
