Where is Pacific Located?
Pacific is a city located primarily in Franklin County, with a small portion extending into St. Louis County, Missouri, the United States. It lies along the Meramec River valley, about 30 miles southwest of downtown St. Louis and roughly 20 miles east of Washington. Eureka is around 10 miles northeast, while Union is about 15 miles southwest. Pacific is positioned near 38.482° North latitude and 90.741° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,002 residents. The city covers about 6.74 square miles, or 17.46 square kilometers. Pacific developed as a railroad and industrial community and later became closely associated with historic Route 66. The city has several historic buildings and transportation landmarks tied to the old highway. Nearby Shaw Nature Reserve provides trails, prairies, wetlands, and native plant habitats. Pacific was incorporated in 1871. A unique fact about the city is its connection to Route 66, which passed through the community and helped shape its commercial history.
