It lies in eastern Missouri along the Bourbeuse River, about 50 miles southwest of St. Louis and roughly 20 miles southeast of Washington. Pacific is approximately 30 miles northeast, while Sullivan is about 35 miles west of Union. The city is located at approximately 38.4500° North latitude and 91.0100° West longitude.
