Branson is a city located in Taney County, Missouri, the United States. It lies in the Ozark Mountains of southwestern Missouri, close to the Arkansas border. Branson is approximately 45 miles south of Springfield, 40 miles north of Harrison, Arkansas, and about 215 miles southwest of St. Louis. The city is located at approximately 36.6437° North latitude and 93.2185° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 12,638 residents. Branson covers about 20.80 square miles, or 53.87 square kilometers, including approximately 20.28 square miles of land and 0.52 square miles of water. Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo are major geographic features near the city. Branson is famous for its live entertainment theaters and attractions, including Silver Dollar City.
