Sunset Hills is a city located in St. Louis County, Missouri, the United States. It lies in southwest St. Louis County, about 15 miles southwest of downtown St. Louis and roughly 10 miles south of Clayton. Kirkwood is about 5 miles west, while Crestwood is approximately 5 miles north of Sunset Hills. The city is located at 38.5384° North latitude and 90.4073° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 8,496 residents. Sunset Hills covers about 9.15 square miles, or approximately 23.70 square kilometers. The landscape includes rolling hills, mature trees, residential neighborhoods, creeks, and open green spaces. Laumeier Sculpture Park is one of the city's best-known nearby attractions and combines outdoor art with walking trails and natural scenery. Grant's Trail also passes through the area and follows a former railroad corridor used for walking and cycling. Sunset Hills was incorporated as a city in 1957 after developing from a largely rural area into a suburban community.
