Willard is a city located in Greene County, Missouri, the United States. It is in southwest Missouri, about 10 miles northwest of Springfield, 20 miles northeast of Republic, and approximately 25 miles east of Marshfield. Willard lies at approximately 37.305° North latitude and 93.428° West longitude. The city had 5,506 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 7.06 square miles, or 18.29 square kilometers. Willard was incorporated in 1902 and developed around the railroad and the agricultural economy of northern Greene County. The community's location along transportation routes helped local farmers ship crops and livestock to nearby markets. Today, Willard is a growing residential community with strong connections to Springfield and the wider Ozarks region.
