Woodland Park is a city located in Teller County, Colorado, the United States. It is in central Colorado along Ute Pass, about 18 miles west of Colorado Springs, 10 miles east of Divide, and approximately 25 miles south of Manitou Springs. Woodland Park lies at approximately 38.993° North latitude and 105.056° West longitude. The city had 7,920 residents in the 2020 Census and covers about 6.61 square miles, or 17.13 square kilometers of land. Woodland Park was founded as Manitou Park in 1887 and was incorporated under its current name in 1891. Its early economy was connected to lumber, ranching, tourism, and the Colorado Midland Railroad. Today, Woodland Park is a mountain community surrounded by forests, rocky landscapes, and views of Pikes Peak. The city is located near Pike National Forest and provides access to hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, camping, and other outdoor activities. Nearby attractions include Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, and the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center.
