Fishers is a city located in Hamilton County, Indiana, the United States. It lies in central Indiana, about 21 miles northeast of downtown Indianapolis, 10 miles east of Carmel, and roughly 20 miles southwest of Anderson. Fishers is positioned at approximately 39.958° North latitude and 85.966° West longitude. The city covers about 35.24 square miles, or 91.27 square kilometers, of land. The 2020 Census recorded 98,977 residents, while the 2023 population estimate was about 103,000. Fishers stands at an elevation of roughly 850 feet above sea level. The community grew from a small railroad settlement into one of the largest suburban cities in the Indianapolis region. The Nickel Plate District serves as a major center for dining, events, entertainment, and community activities. Geist Reservoir, located partly within the city, provides boating, fishing, and waterfront recreation. Fishers also has extensive trails and parks, including the popular Nickel Plate Trail. Interstate 69 and State Road 37 connect the city with Indianapolis, Noblesville, Carmel, and other parts of central Indiana.
