Rushville is a city located in Rush County, Indiana, the United States. It lies in east-central Indiana, about 45 miles southeast of Indianapolis and roughly 55 miles northwest of Cincinnati. Greensburg is around 20 miles south, while Connersville is about 25 miles east. Rushville is positioned near 39.610° North latitude and 85.447° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 6,208 residents. The city covers about 3.45 square miles, or 8.94 square kilometers. Rushville was founded in 1822 and incorporated in 1848. It serves as the county seat of Rush County and developed as a local center for government, agriculture, trade, and transportation.
