Al Khor is a coastal city in northern Qatar, located 50 kilometres north of Doha. It is one of the venues for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Al Khor City is the capital city of the Al Khor Municipality in the State of Qatar, one of Qatar's largest cities, with an estimated population of 31,547 residents as of 2004, in an area of more than 11.4 square kilometres (4.4 square miles). Al Khor's latitude and longitude is 25°41′24″N 51°30′36″E.

Al Khori is a city which is located in northern part of Quater. It is the administrative center of the municipality of Al Khor and one of the biggest cities in Qatar. The city's name, which means creek in Arabic, was given to it because the original settlement was built on a creek. Al Khor is bordered by Al Shamal to the north, Al Daayen and Umm Salal to the southeast, and Al-Shahaniya to the southwest.
The Al Khori municipality is home to 170 rawdas, 49 wadis, 57 jeris, seven jeryan, 7 plains, 22 hills, 5 highlands, thirteen sabkhas, Seventeen capes, four bays, and three coral reefs, according to the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. Off its coast, there are four islands, the most significant of which is Al Khor Island. Due to the municipality's many resorts, rich biodiversity, and cultural attractions, tourism has been growing recently. The majority of the municipality's residents formerly relied heavily on fishing. The Al Khori municipality is split into three zones, each of which is further divided into 454 blocks. Al Khor Island, often called Purple Island, is close to the city. The island, which is known as a domestic ecotourism destination, is connected to Al Khor by a winding dirt path that passes through several creeks.
The Al Khor Archaeological Museum is situated in a former two-level police station along the coast in Al Khor City. It contains items gathered during explorations made in the municipality. The museum's ground floor features displays on nautical activities previously practiced by Qataris, including fishing and shipbuilding, as well as handiwork related to the country's cultural history. The pillars of the Al Khor economy were traditionally agricultural pursuits like fishing and pearling. Agriculture is one of the largest industries in Al Khor despite being surpassed in size by the extraction and building sectors. Al Khor, a municipality in Qatar, held 35% of the country's farmland in 2015, only behind Al Rayyan, which held 36% of the country's agriculture. However, Al Khor had the greatest concentration of farms. Over a total area of 16,943 hectares, there were 344 farms, the majority of which (220) were mixed operations, 119 of which were entirely used for growing crops, and 3 of which were used for raising cattle.
