Where is Crescent City Located?

Crescent City is a city located in Del Norte County, California, the United States. It is the county seat of Del Norte County and lies on the northern California coast, about 20 miles south of the Oregon border and roughly 80 miles north of Eureka. Crescent City is located at approximately 41.7558° North latitude and 124.2017° West longitude. The city covers about 2.42 square miles (6.27 sq km) and had 6,673 residents in the 2020 Census. It sits along the Pacific Ocean near the mouth of Elk Creek and the Crescent City Harbor. The area has a cool, wet coastal climate and is surrounded by some of the tallest redwood forests in the world. Crescent City was incorporated in 1854 and developed as a coastal shipping and fishing center. Battery Point Lighthouse is one of its best-known landmarks. Redwood National and State Parks are also nearby, protecting ancient redwood forests, rivers, and coastal habitats.
