Fowler is a city located in Fresno County, California, the United States. It lies in the central San Joaquin Valley, about 10 miles southeast of Fresno, 7 miles north of Selma, and roughly 15 miles northwest of Reedley. Fowler is positioned at approximately 36.631° North latitude and 119.682° West longitude. The city covers about 2.68 square miles, or 6.94 square kilometers, of land. The 2020 Census recorded 6,700 residents, while recent estimates place the population at about 6,900. Fowler stands at an elevation of roughly 300 feet above sea level. The community was established in the late 19th century and developed around agriculture and the Southern Pacific Railroad. Farming remains central to the surrounding economy, with vineyards, orchards, and fields producing grapes, citrus, peaches, tomatoes, and other crops. The city's location in the fertile Central Valley gives it a strong agricultural character.
