It lies in central California's San Joaquin Valley, about 15 miles west of Fresno and roughly 20 miles east of the foothills of the Coast Ranges. The city is located at approximately 36.724° North latitude and 120.060° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 16,151 residents. Kerman covers about 3.97 square miles, or 10.28 square kilometers.
