Marysville is a city located in Yuba County, California, the United States. It lies in the northern Sacramento Valley at the confluence of the Yuba and Feather rivers, about 40 miles north of Sacramento and roughly 45 miles southwest of Chico. Marysville is located at approximately 39.145° North latitude and 121.592° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 12,287 residents, and the city covers about 3.51 square miles (9.09 sq km). Marysville was founded in 1850 during the California Gold Rush and incorporated in 1851. The city's location near the Yuba River made it an important supply and transportation center for miners and settlers during the Gold Rush. River commerce and agriculture later helped support its economy. Today, Marysville retains several historic buildings and landmarks from its early history.
