Cloverdale is a city located in Sonoma County, California, the United States. It is about 25 miles north of Santa Rosa and near the northern edge of Sonoma County. Cloverdale is located at approximately 38.8055° North latitude and 123.0172° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 8,996 residents, and the city covers about 3.28 square miles (8.50 sq km). The Russian River passes through the area, while vineyards, oak-covered hills, and forested mountains surround the city. Cloverdale was incorporated in 1872 and grew as a farming, wine-growing, and transportation community. U.S. Route 101 runs through the city and connects it with Santa Rosa, Ukiah, and other communities in Northern California.
