El Segundo is a city located in Los Angeles County, California, the United States. It sits on the Southern California coast in the South Bay area, between Manhattan Beach and Playa del Rey. Downtown Los Angeles is about 17 miles northeast, while Santa Monica is roughly 11 miles northwest and Long Beach is about 20 miles southeast. El Segundo is located at approximately 33.92° North latitude and 118.42° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 16,731 residents. The city covers about 5.46 square miles, or 14.14 square kilometers. El Segundo has a long connection to aviation and aerospace, with major companies and research facilities located in and around the community.
