Laguna Beach is a city located in Orange County, California, the United States. It lies along the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, about 25 miles southeast of Santa Ana and roughly 50 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. The city is located at approximately 33.542° North latitude and 117.783° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 23,032 residents, and Laguna Beach covers about 8.83 square miles (22.87 sq km). Its coastline, coves, beaches, and steep coastal hills shape much of the city's landscape and identity. Laguna Beach became a city in 1927 and developed a strong reputation as an artists' community during the 20th century. The city remains home to numerous galleries, art festivals, and cultural organizations.
