Lakeport is a city located in Lake County, California, the United States. It lies on the western shore of Clear Lake in Northern California, about 70 miles north of Santa Rosa and roughly 115 miles north of San Francisco. The city is located at approximately 39.043° North latitude and 122.916° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 5,442 residents, and Lakeport covers about 3.33 square miles (8.62 sq km). Clear Lake is the defining geographic feature of the city and supports boating, fishing, swimming, wildlife viewing, and other outdoor activities. Lakeport was founded in the 19th century and serves as the county seat of Lake County. The city's historic downtown contains older commercial buildings, local businesses, and community landmarks.
