San Marino is a city located in Los Angeles County, California, the United States. It lies in the San Gabriel Valley, east of downtown Los Angeles and southwest of the San Gabriel Mountains. San Marino is about 10 miles from downtown Los Angeles, 3 miles from Pasadena, and roughly 15 miles from Burbank. The city is located at 34.1214° North latitude and 118.1065° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded a population of 12,513. San Marino covers about 3.8 square miles (9.8 square kilometers), with nearly all of its area consisting of land. The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens is its most famous attraction and includes extensive art collections, historic books, and botanical gardens. A unique fact about San Marino is that it was established as a planned residential community and has remained one of the smaller incorporated cities in the Los Angeles area.
