Alice is a city located in Jim Wells County, Texas, the United States. The city lies in the South Texas Plains along U.S. Highway 281 and State Highway 44. It is approximately 45 miles (72 km) west of Corpus Christi, 42 miles (68 km) south of George West, and about 120 miles (193 km) southeast of San Antonio. Alice is located at 27.7522° North latitude and 98.0697° West longitude. According to the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of 18,729. Alice covers approximately 12.93 square miles (33.49 sq km). The city is widely recognized as the birthplace of the Texas state flower song, "Bluebonnet Time," and serves as an important commercial, healthcare, and educational hub for the surrounding region.
