Bridgeport is a city located in Wise County, Texas, the United States. The city lies in North Texas, northwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Bridgeport is approximately 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Fort Worth, 45 miles (72 km) northwest of Denton, and around 65 miles (105 km) west of Dallas. It is located at approximately 33.2101° North latitude and 97.7545° West longitude. According to the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of 6,148. Bridgeport covers about 9.18 square miles (23.78 sq km). Lake Bridgeport is one of the city's most important geographic features and provides opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and other outdoor activities.
