Ennis is a city located in Ellis County, Texas, the United States. It lies about 35 miles south of downtown Dallas and roughly 15 miles east of Waxahachie. Corsicana is about 30 miles southeast, while Arlington is approximately 40 miles northwest. Ennis is located at approximately 32.33° North latitude and 96.63° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 20,159 residents. The city covers about 29.4 square miles, or 76.1 square kilometers. Ennis serves as the county seat of Ellis County and is an important transportation and commercial center south of Dallas.
