Granbury is a city located in Hood County, Texas, the United States. It lies in North Texas along the Brazos River and Lake Granbury, about 35 miles southwest of Fort Worth and roughly 40 miles west of Dallas. Granbury is the county seat of Hood County and is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area. The city is located at approximately 32.443° North latitude and 97.794° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 10,958 residents. Granbury covers about 36.9 square miles, or 95.6 square kilometers, including land and water. The city was founded in 1866 and developed around the courthouse square that remains the center of its historic downtown.
