Joshua is a city located in Johnson County, Texas, the United States. It lies in north-central Texas, about 25 miles south of Fort Worth and roughly 40 miles southwest of downtown Dallas. Joshua is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area and is surrounded by the rolling grasslands and wooded areas of the Cross Timbers region. The city is located at approximately 32.461° North latitude and 97.388° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,891 residents. Joshua covers about 5.59 square miles, or 14.48 square kilometers. The community was established in the late 19th century and developed as a small agricultural and railroad community. Its location near Fort Worth later helped support residential growth and commuting. Nearby Lake Pat Cleburne provides opportunities for boating, fishing, camping, and outdoor recreation.
