Palestine is a city located in Anderson County, Texas, the United States. It lies in East Texas, about 100 miles southeast of Dallas and roughly 50 miles east of Waco. Jacksonville is around 25 miles east, while Corsicana is about 45 miles northwest. Palestine is positioned near 31.762° North latitude and 95.630° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 18,544 residents. The city covers about 19.41 square miles, or 50.27 square kilometers. Palestine grew as a transportation center after railroads reached the area in the 19th century.
