Where is Post Located?
Post is a city located in Garza County, Texas, the United States. It lies in the South Plains of West Texas, about 40 miles southeast of Lubbock and roughly 75 miles northeast of Midland. Slaton is around 20 miles northwest, while Tahoka is about 25 miles southwest. Post is positioned near 33.190° North latitude and 101.378° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 5,115 residents. The city covers about 6.00 square miles, or 15.54 square kilometers. Post was founded in 1907 by businessman C. W. Post, who planned the community as a model town. He established the Post City Company and attracted settlers, businesses, and agricultural development to the area. The Garza County Courthouse is a prominent landmark in the city and reflects the area's early civic history.
