Lake Dallas is a city located in Denton County, Texas, the United States. It lies in North Texas on the eastern side of Lewisville Lake, about 30 miles north of downtown Dallas and roughly 25 miles northwest of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The city is located at approximately 33.119° North latitude and 97.025° West longitude. The 2020 Census recorded 7,530 residents, and Lake Dallas covers about 2.51 square miles (6.50 sq km). The community developed around the lake and the railroad and later grew as a residential community within the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Lewisville Lake is the city's defining geographic feature and provides opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Nearby attractions include Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area, Lewisville Lake Park, and the historic communities of Denton and Lewisville.
