Alachua is a city located in Alachua County in the U.S. state of Florida, United States. The city was established in the nineteenth century and was incorporated in 1905 as a small agricultural community in northern Florida. Alachua developed historically through farming, railroad transportation, and regional trade serving surrounding rural areas.
