The community was established in the late nineteenth century as a small agricultural settlement and was incorporated in 1925. Minneola developed historically through citrus farming and transportation routes before expanding into a residential community within the Orlando metropolitan region. Today the city is known for its scenic hills, lakes, and growing suburban neighborhoods.
