Bradenton is a city located in Manatee County in the U.S. state of Florida, United States. The city was established in 1842 and later incorporated in 1903 as the county seat of Manatee County. Bradenton developed along the Manatee River as a center for agriculture, fishing, and regional trade during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Today the city is known for its historic downtown, waterfront parks, and its role as a cultural and economic center along Florida’s Gulf Coast.
