Ocala is a city located in Marion County in the U.S. state of Florida, United States. The city was established in 1849 and developed as a regional center for agriculture and trade in north-central Florida. Ocala was named after the historic Ocala Native American village and later grew as an important hub for horse breeding and equestrian industries.
