Longwood is a city located in Seminole County in the U.S. state of Florida, United States. The city was established in the late nineteenth century and was incorporated in 1923 as a small settlement along a railroad route in central Florida. Longwood developed historically through agriculture, citrus farming, and transportation before expanding as a suburban community within the Orlando metropolitan region. Today the city is known for its historic district, parks, and residential neighborhoods.
