Apopka is a city located in Orange County in the U.S. state of Florida, United States. The city was established in 1882 and later incorporated in 1885 as a developing agricultural community in central Florida. Apopka grew historically through citrus farming and vegetable production, earning the nickname “Indoor Foliage Capital of the World” due to its greenhouse plant industry. Today the city continues to expand as a residential and commercial community within the Orlando metropolitan region.
