Chad is a large landlocked country in north-central Africa, bordered by Libya, Sudan, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Niger. The country is divided into 23 provinces, and those provinces are further divided into departments and communes for local administration. N'Djamena is the national capital and also the largest city in Chad.
