Armenia is divided into 11 provinces, called marzer (singular: marz)

Armenia is a mountainous country in the South Caucasus region, sitting between Europe and Asia. It borders Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Iran, and the country is divided into 10 provinces, officially called marzes, along with the separate capital city community of Yerevan. Yerevan is the national capital and also the largest city in Armenia.

Much of Armenia is covered by highlands and rugged mountain landscapes, with villages and towns spread across valleys and plateaus. The country has a long history, ancient monasteries, and strong cultural traditions that still shape daily life across the provinces.
