Mount McKinley, also known as Denali, is located in the Alaska Range in the interior of the U.S. state of Alaska. It is the tallest mountain in North America, with a summit elevation of 20,310 feet (6,190 m) above sea level.It is located about 210 kilometers (130 miles) north-northwest of Anchorage. Sixty million years ago, tectonic uplift pushed Earth's crust upward, forming Denali and the other Alaska Range mountains.
